imo you need to add the score meter somewhere even when the island picker on the left is open, because if I try to connect as many words as I can with as few islands as possible, I am always shown the island picker, but I don't know anymore how many points I am still missing to win

We're glad you liked it Nihilistas, we'll make it clear how many points you need to win even when the island picker is open in our first patch.
Really fun game! I found it very hard until I figured out you could connect diagonally. Then I could get to 202 by trial and error.
